conclusions of the year
get help when you need it. it makes a difference. most of the times. when it doesn’t, get help elsewhere until it does.
cooking can be the most relaxing, yet anxiety-inducing activity.
if you can’t travel, read.
if you can’t speak about it, write about it.
when you feel like texting but can’t find anyone, text yourself. because you know this recipient would read your text instantly, maybe even respond to it, with things you want to hear, or sometimes things you don’t want to, but need to hear.
green goes well with everything.
when someone has something to say, listen to them. maybe that’s all they needed, someone that listens. and nothing else.
boredom is good, too much boredom can be bad.
be kind. you’re the first to benefit from your own kindness.
having good coffee everyday is a privilege.
everything is fluid. so are you. the person you were yesterday is not the same as the person you are today. so is everything else. today might be the worst, but the day will come where things get better, and the worst will pass. and the good times, they too will pass.
tight hugs.
flowers. plants. animals. great stuff.
the things in life that you don’t enjoy. are they holding you back? or is it you who’s not letting go?
(quoted from ava’s bookbear express):
When you’re at a local minima, it’s easy to catastrophize and believe that everything is doomed. When you’re at a local maxima, it’s easy to believe that this is the best things will ever be. Usually neither is true.
getting to know your parents is an interesting journey. you may love or hate it, sometimes you wish you didn’t know certain things about them, yet it is fascinating that they too, have their own universes, beside being your parents.
there is a cult factor in most things we do as communities. yet it is human nature to want and need a sense of belonging, whether it’s a Peloton membership or self-sustained commune.
friends are your chosen family. be picky, choose carefully. and know that it is your choice, always.
it’s never too late. to start a new hobby, to change your sleeping pattern, to change your entire aesthetics, to switch career, to tell someone you love them, to tell someone you no longer love them, to start a degree, to leave, to come back. do it, it may be disastrous, it may be the best decision of your life, how do you find out?
stay alive. don’t miss out. on the sunny days, the cute dog from across the road, the fresh air, celebrities gossips, dystopian stories, the kind (or bad tempered) lady selling fresh fruits at the Sunday market, instrumental music, nature, the beach, mountain, things that matter yet don’t.
if you don’t add value, then fuck off.
